Project Description

Bridget Williams

I have been making and teaching pottery for the last three decades.

I principally make wheel-thrown slip decorated domestic earthenware pottery, ranging from large platters, bowls and teapots to tiny cups, saucers and egg cups. These forms are decorated with coloured slip under a transparent glaze. Designs include polka dots and abstract shapes and brushwork. At the moment I make three ranges: Polkadot, in either dark blue and grey, Microblue, a paler shade of blue with layered brush strokes and yellow spots and Retrogrey, where the slip is applied with decoratively cut sponges and then drawn into revealing the terracotta clay underneath.

I am a member of Gloucestershire Guild and I am happy to produce commissioned work for special occasions such as christenings, birthdays and weddings.
